A bad, BAD sign...

Restaurants, furniture stores, Billy Bob's Fireworks.....those are the things that graced the roadside billboards, and yes, for the most part still do. But while traveling a secondary road (not even the interstate) with a friend we passed this sign. I made her turn around to get this picture, I mean whaaaaaaat! Really, how bad has it gotten that this sort of thing has to be advertised on a billboard?

This is very unnerving. For those of us who are married, a service of this nature is very unlikely. However it's not even a marriage issue, it's a responsibility issue. Has it become so meaningless that it's not even worth keeping up with? Have the partners become so many that there is no keeping track? C'mon ladies, certainly we can do better for ourselves than that. And guys, if you're man enough to drive, you better be ready to pay for parking. Why does it have to get to this.......

Sidenote: Please don't take this as a "holier-than-thou" attitude, it is by no means meant that way. True, I am married and a mother of two now. Keep in mind, I wasn't always married, but I was always responsible.

Wow. Jerry Springer and Maruy type talk shows are all about this. Very sad though to bepregnant and not know who the father is and it comes to this. Very sad to know who the father is but he denies the child and it comes to this. Its a sign of the times...

I think a service like this is aimed at men who are paying child support and don't want to be, not so much at women who don't know who the father is.... :)

My friend had to do it and its because he refused to acknowledge the baby was his (though she had only been with him!) and so refused child support. She had it court ordered.

I totally agree with your friends actions and would have to done the same thing. See, THAT is what I mean about guys being ready to pay for parking.

It SO ticks my off that they assume she MUST have been with someone else to escape their resposibility. UGH! Some guys just stink!!

It is sad that the world has devolved to such a state that this type of thing has become so necessary on such a grand scale that it needs a billboard.

I mean, my husband had to get testing done with his ex-girlfriend because she stood up in court and said that she didn't know if his daughter was his!

What's funny is before I read this post yesterday I read a forwarded email with a similar billboard. It was taken out by a woman outing her cheating husband. What's a better way to let your husband (and everyone else) know he's been caught?

This is really a reflection of some of the sad state of things in our culture right now- I agree with you- it's a Responsibility issue, whether it's having control over your sex-life, or admitting that you just may be the father...but again, it's sad.

It's sad on many levels - the biggest is that we need it.

that is very sad. it reminds me of the maury povich shows- lateley most of them are about these girls who come back up to 3-4 times with different men each time to see who the father of their kid is. i just don't get it....

Signs like those are everywhere. Also radio stations are now bringing the parties in to disclose the results on the air.
